Ker is the owner, visionary, and driving force behind Minerva Wisdom Arts. She channels (and often follows the advice of) her spirit guides, BlueStar and Counsel of Light, and is a fully trained Bach flower practitioner (BFRP) and Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui tradition.
Ker and her guides developed and – as ClearHeart Publishing – published the BlueStar Oracle Deck in 2016. Two more decks are on the near horizon, The Sacred Stones Oracle Deck I & II. She also co-produces the annual Joyful Heart Psychic & Wellness Fair in Eugene, OR.
When Ker was a kid, she tended toward both magical thinking and a deep, abiding practicality. Her curiosity led her to develop many skills and abilities, which have been woven into the tapestry of her life over time. She is still curious, magical, and practical, and that is why she does this work. Her goal is to assist others in connecting with their own deep inner wisdom and healing abilities, through channeling, Bach flowers, writing, energy healing, and reading and teaching the oracle cards.
Ker has worked in bookstores, as an editor, a baker, a wilderness ranger in the US Forest Service, a massage therapist, a Reiki practitioner, and a rebirther, among other things. She earned her MA in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University. Ker is licensed (inactive) as a professional counselor in Oregon. She is a low-maintenance Buddhist.
She lives in Eugene, OR, with her wife, two dogs, five chickens, and a somewhat messy garden, where something is always growing and something else is always fading away. She tries to make time for her loves, including music, art, writing, walking, food-making, and taking long baths. Ker generally enjoys doing the dishes once she gets started. She is pretty much an introvert, but when you get her on a long walk talking about her passions, you might not know it.
Most recently, Ker is adjusting to Minerva Wisdom Arts, LLC, after having identified as BlueStar Channeling for a very long time. She is trying to write a few books. Ker also enjoys allowing her guides to write through her for their blog posts and the information in the Oracle Decks.
Ker says, “I resisted becoming a channeler, but when I met my guides, it was like coming home. As I witnessed the effectiveness of channeling, and experienced the deep, unconditional love energy inherent in the process, I committed myself wholeheartedly to this work. My clients and I find that channeled guidance, flower essences, and oracle cards are joyful and transformative. I feel honored to be a bridge between the seen and unseen worlds, for the benefit of all beings.”
How did you start channeling? I started having conscious contact with my guides in 1989, when I was a massage therapist. I would pick up bits of information about my clients in session, and when I checked it out with them, they found it accurate and useful. Still, I resisted my guides until my friend and mentor, Hazel Courtman, channeled them for me. When I met my guides directly, I relaxed and started working intentionally with them. My relationship with my guides has grown and changed over the years. I feel deep trust and utter confidence in them, and most of the time I follow their suggestions in my own life (but not always, because I am stubborn, and they aren’t the boss of me!).
What is channeling like for you, as the channeler? It’s a little bit like a dream state that I can go in and out of at will. I don’t remember much of what has been said during a session, though I often have a general sense of it. If I am working with a client who is very visually oriented, I get more visuals during the reading. If they are kinesthetically (body) oriented, I get body sensations. If they are primarily verbal, I get lots of words, although my guides generally use a lot of words anyway. I enjoy the sensation of my guides’ energy flowing through me during readings, and generally feel relaxed afterwards.
